According to Vladimir Guerrero of the Los Angeles Angels he does not have any problems with his knees nor will he be having a surgery. Guerrero said that his mother’s side of the family had one leg longer than the other and he had inherited this. That is why at times it looks as if he is limping but that was not a fact. Guerrero told the press through a translator.

Last season Guerrero had pain in his right knee and the doctors had recommended him to undergo a surgery. However, before the spring training the pain had disappeared and as a result Guerrero decided not to have the surgery.

In 2006, Guerrero averaged .329 with 33 homeruns and 116 RBIs. This was his third season with Angels. Unfortunately for Guerrero he was the leading outfielder in the American League with 11 errors. Guerrero insists that the errors were not caused because of the problems he had with his knee.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia had

said earlier this spring that he intended giving Guerrero and Garret Anderson more time this season as designated hitters. Last season Guerrero was the designate hitter 30 times.

Guerrero said that when he played in the National League, there was no designate hitter and his knee hurt more since he was playing on turf and did not take any days off. However, now he was healthy and if Scioscia wanted him to be the designate hitter, he would be happy to take on the responsibility.
